Steelin' Country coming to Waddington June 18

WADDINGTON -- Lake Saint Lawrence Arts will present Steelin' Country at the old Waddington Town Hall on June 18 at 7 p.m.

The band is comprised of a number of area musicians who love to play what they call “real country” music from the past, along with original compositions written by some group members.

They will play songs by Ray Price, Connie Smith, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard and many others.

Band members include Kirk Robinson on pedal steel guitar, Michelle Bresett on rhythm guitar and lead vocals, Terry Robinson on electric guitar, Alex Hammond on percussion and lead vocals, Josh Barkley on keyboard, and Tyler Jaquith on bass guitar.

The members of the band bring to the stage a varied background of musical experiences, entertaining audiences as diverse as New York State Fair attendees, high school and college students, church congregations, nursing home residents, and anyone else who enjoys quality music.

“As one of the goals of “Steelin’ Country has been to spread the gospel of classic country music to younger generations, Michelle, as a local high school teacher, is pleased to have three of her recent students joining the band for this performance,” the arts group said. “Terry and Kirk are father and son, and also grandfather and uncle to Alex, truly making this band a family affair.”
