POTSDAM -- The St. Lawrence Valley Genealogical Society, in cooperation with the Family History Center of the church, will host a genealogy and history day Saturday, Oct. 24, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Castle Drive.
Admission is free and light refreshments will be available. The genealogy resources will be available to attendees, including extensive files compiled by the late former county historian Mary Smallman.
A number of experienced genealogists will be available to provide advice and assistance. A genealogy database will be demonstrated and there will be an expert photo scanner on hand to offer advice on that subject. Local historians will be available to talk with.
