St. Lawrence University's writer's series continues Oct. 22 in Canton

CANTON -- St. Lawrence University’s Writer’s Series will continue its 2015-16 season with The New Yorker writer and author Adam Gopnik at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22, in the Sykes Common Room.

The event is free and open to the public.

Gopnik has been a staff writer at The New Yorker since 1986, contributing fiction, humor, book reviews, profiles and reported pieces from abroad. He has been the magazine’s art critic and Paris correspondent. His books include Paris to the Moon, The King in the Window, Through the Children’s Gate: A Home in New York, and Winter: Five Windows on the Season.

Gopnik has three National Magazine awards, won the George Polk Award for Magazine Reporting, and received the French medal of Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters. In 2011, he delivered the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation’s Massey Lectures.
