CANTON -- This year’s St. Lawrence University Mainstage Production will feature a remake of three ancient Greek plays Nov. 6-9 from 8 to 9:30 p.m. at the Edson R. Miles Black Box Theater.
Matt Saltzberg, visiting assistant professor of performance and communication arts, will direct Ellen McLaughlin’s “Iphigenia and Other Daughters,” which will feature St. Lawrence student actors in the production.
“The play is a representation of physical theater, which really is a unity of the mind and the body,” Saltzberg explained.
The performance is free however tickets are required and can be acquired at the Gulick Box Office from 1 to 5 p.m. Nov. 4-8 or by calling 229-5748.
“The student actors, the set, the lighting all come together to bring the performance alive. It is a physical experience to watch, and it exposes the audience to different movements. The methods come from the dance, but it’s not dance, exactly,” said Saltzberg.
