CANTON -- St. Lawrence University will host Micere Githae Mugo at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 6, in Eben Holden.
Mugo is a playwright, author, activist, instructor and poet from Kenya who was forced into exile in 1982. Today, she is a Meredith Professor for Teaching Excellence and professor of African American studies at Syracuse University.
Her lecture is titled “Celebrating Progressive Orature and Literature as Tools in Kenya’s Struggle for Self-Determination: Commemorating the Legacy of C.L.R James.” For more information, contact 315-229-5246.
