CANTON -- St. Lawrence University’s Writer’s Series continues with author John McNally at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5, in the Sykes Common Room. The event is free and open to the public.
McNally is the author of three novels: After the Workshop, The Book of Ralph and America’s Report Card; two story collections, Troublemakers and Ghosts of Chicago; two nonfiction books, The Creative Writer’s Survival Guide: Advice from an Unrepentant Novelist and Vivid and Continuous: Essays and Exercises for Writing Fiction; and one young adult novel, Lord of the Ralphs.
Three more books are forthcoming: a novel, a collection of personal essays and a memoir about failure. A screenplay he co-wrote is in development with the producer of Winter’s Bone. The graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop is professor and writer in residence at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
