CANTON -- St. Lawrence University's Writers Series will host author Sven Birkerts Oct. 3 in the Sykes common room, Sykes Residence Hall, Park Street at 8 p.m.
Birkerts is the author of nine books of essays and memoirs, most recently The Other Walk: Essays. He will publish a new collection of essays with Graywolf Press in 2015.
Birkerts edits the literary journal AGNI at Boston University and is also director of the Bennington Writing Seminars.
He has published several essays and reviews in Esquire, The New York Times Book Review, The Threepenny Review, The Los Angeles Review of Books, The American Scholar and other journals.
