CANTON -- St. Lawrence University’s Hays and Margaret Crimmel Colloquium on Liberal Education, beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, in Eben Holden Conference Center, will cover “Tweeting the Liberal Arts.”
As digital modes of communication become increasingly important to a liberal arts education, Christopher Long, dean of the College of Arts and Letters at Michigan State University, explores the power of tweets. In just 140 characters, college students are able to either connect or fragment their communities using simple online platforms.
This colloquium will utilize Twitter in real time to demonstrate the capabilities of such digital language.
The presentation will be fully interactive, and guests should arrive prepared to Tweet at one another and at Long using #SLUFY15 and his Twitter handle @cplong. Info: Karin Blackburn at 229-5998 or kblackburn@stlawu.edu.
