CANTON -- Performers JW Turner and Lyn Ellen Burkett will give a lecture and premier musical works by modern composers Bryan Burkett, William Pfaff and In-Sil Yoo at St. Lawrence University Sept 13.
The lecture, “Women and Popular Music,” will take place at 11 a.m. and the performance will take place at 8 p.m.
Both events will be held in the Peterson-Kermani Performance Hall in the Griffiths Arts Center and are free. Lyn Ellen Burkett, a pianist and harpsichordist, previously taught at SUNY Potsdam and Indiana University, teaching courses on rock music, women and popular music in the U.S.
She is currently an assistant professor of music at the University of North Carolina at Asheville.
