MADRID -- The St. Lawrence Power and Equipment Museum’s 25th annual Old Fashioned Harvest Days Exhibition will feature displays of antique engines, plowing and sawmilling demonstrations, horses and more Sept 5-6.
Gates open at the museum’s farm at 1755 State Highway 345 at 9 a.m. each day. Admission is $5 for anyone 12 years and older.
Among attractions planned include mini and draft horse pulls, tractor pulls, horse and tractor wagon rides, textile demonstrations, a woodcarver, flea market, antique cars, trucks, gas, steam and diesel engines and farm animals.
A variety of food including baked goods and ice cream will be sold all weekend. A ham and scalloped potatoes dinner will be served from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Saturday and a chicken barbeque at noon on Sunday. Breakfast will be available from 7 to 10 a.m. both days.
Live music by Classic Country will fill the air Saturday night from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The complete schedule for Saturday is: corn harvesting, 9:30-11 a.m.; antique auto and truck exhibit, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.; miniature horse pull, 10 a.m.; antique sawmills operating, 11 a.m.-noon; tractor and horse parade, 12:30 p.m.; garden tractor pull, noon, draft horse pull, 1 p.m.; corn harvesting, 1-2 p.m.; kids pedal tractor races, 1-2:30 p.m.; antique sawmills make lumber, 2-3 p.m.; ham and scalloped potatoes dinner, 4:30-6 p.m.; live music with Classic Country, 6:30-8:30 p.m.; 50/50 drawing, 7:30 p.m.
The schedule for Sunday is as follows: church in the tractor building, 7:30-8 a.m.; trustees meeting (open to all), 8-9 a.m.; horse and tractor parade, 9:30 a.m.; antique sawmills make lumber, 10-11 a.m.; corn harvesting, 11 a.m.-noon; antique auto and truck exhibit, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.; antique tractor pull, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; BBQ chicken dinner, noon-gone; free pony rides by Honey Dew Acres, noon-3 p.m.; antique lumber making, 1-2 p.m.; corn chopping, 1-2 p.m., kids pedal tractor pull, 1-2:30 p.m.; raffle, silent auction drawings, 2 p.m.
