CANTON -- St. Lawrence Dairy Princess court seeks young women to participate in the next princess pageant April 25.
Single young women, ages 16-21 with a dairy background or with a connection to the dairy industry are invited to participate.
Girls from 13 to 15 years of age are eligible for the Dairy Ambassador Program.
The Dairy Ambassador Program is designed to complement the program functioning within the county to assist the dairy princess in carrying out her duties and educate and train future princess candidates.
Interested girls and their parents are invited to attend an Informational night March 25, at 6 p.m. at the Cornell Cooperative Extension Learning Farm in the classroom.
The St. Lawrence County Dairy Princess Pageant will be held on April 25 at 6 p.m. at Madrid Community Building in Madrid where the current Dairy Princess Jennifer King will crown the new dairy royalty.
The newly appointed court will appear in the Dairy Princess Parade in Canton on June 6.
The 2015 - 2016 dairy royalty will promote the dairy industry through a variety of speaking engagements and appearances including schools, civic groups, and the media. In addition, the dairy royalty will represent the dairy industry in parades and at local fairs and festivals.
The dairy princess also will have the opportunity to attend a training seminar to learn more about dairy promotion, public speaking and interacting with the public.
