MASSENA -- St. Lawrence County Project Linus Chapter is planning a “Let’s Cover St. Lawrence County’s Children” event at the St. Lawrence Centre Mall from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21.
Members of the community are encouraged to attend to show their support.
Project Linus is a national non-profit organization which collects and distributes new handmade blankets to children in need. The St. Lawrence County Chapter has organized this event in order to make blankets.
Since the chapter was formed in 2007, over two hundred blankets have been made and donated.
The chapter is also holding a “Town Squares Challenge” in which members of different towns are asked to submit knitted or square pieces of fabric to use at the October event.
Besides blanket making that day, there will be raffles, items for sale, and donations will be accepted.
