The St. Lawrence County Office for the Aging (OFA) is sponsoring a holiday basket contest for seniors enrolled in the department’s home delivered meal program. From Nov. 19 through Dec. 17, the office will collect donations of new gift and household items.
The following unopened donations will be accepted: blankets, slippers, puzzles, books, CDs, DVDs, boxed candy, knitted pieces, kitchen items, holiday themed gifts, lotions, gloves, scarves, and other similar gift type items. Previously used items will not be accepted.
Staff members will create holiday baskets with the donated items. Names of seniors currently enrolled in the home delivered meal program will be entered and winners will be drawn at random.
The Office for the Aging staff will deliver winners their baskets from Dec. 18 through Dec. 22. Donations can be dropped off at any of the nutrition sites or at 80 State Highway 310, Suite 7, Canton. Info: 386-4730 or amontgomery@stlawco.org.
