CANTON – The St. Lawrence County Memory Walk will be held Sunday, Sept. 12 with registration at noon and the walk beginning at 1 p.m. at the Patridge Run Golf and Country Club.
The Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk is an empowering event that gives participants an opportunity to be champions by taking action and raising funds to fight Alzheimer's.
Walk organizers expect 200 people to take part in the event, which provides support services to the 2,600+ residents in St. Lawrence County living with Alzheimer's, and critically needed research.
The Alzheimer's Association, Central New York Chapter is leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care, support and research.
Their mission is to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
Their vision is a world without Alzheimer's disease. The Central New York chapter covers 14 counties, including: Broome, Cayuga, Chenango, Cortland, Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis, Madison, Onondaga, Oneida, Oswego, St. Lawrence, Tioga and Tompkins. Headquartered in Syracuse, the chapter also maintains offices in Endicott, Utica and Watertown.
