CANTON – A splint seat workshop will be held by the St. Lawrence County Historical Association at 3 East Main St., on April 2 and 9 from 7 to 9 p.m.
Learn how to give an old chair new life with a new bottom.
Carl Stickney will share his experience in replacing splint-woven seats. Participants should bring a chair with the old seat removed.
The fee is $43 for historical association members and $53 for non-members.
The splint material for an average size chair is included in the cost of the workshop; additional supplies to bring from home are: scissors, an awl, a paring knife, a few clothespins, a rag, and a small water container.
