GOUVERNEUR -- The St. Lawrence County Fair, with animal exhibits, harness races, tractor pulls and 4-H shows is underway.
Free gate admission and ground acts will be offered all week, including Sylvia the Ventriloquist, Pirates of the Columbian Caribbean and a petting zoo.
Sylvia will appear near the children’s rides. The pirates, a high wire act, will be located near the maple building. The petting zoo will set up near the youth building.
4-H groups will host displays and several animal shows throughout the week.
Other highlights will include a horticulture contest, fair booths, harness races, a vegetable show, amusement rides, a tractor pull, a flower shop, the high school bands parade and mannequin modeling. A bicycle drawing, fireman’s parade, mini horse show, fleece judging, talent show, moto cross, comedian, concerts and demolition derby are also on tap.
