CANTON -- The next meeting of the St. Lawrence County Environmental Management Council will take place Wednesday, Feb. 17, at 6 p.m. in the second-floor conference room in the Public Safety Complex, across Court Street from the courthouse.
The speaker will be Aileen O’Donohue, associate professor of physics at St. Lawrence University. She will discuss the scientific basis of climate change.
The EMC is working with the four colleges in Canton and Potsdam to hold “Move Out Days” at each campus at the end of the spring semester.
Last year was the first “Move Out Days” project.
The EMC will be working with the Ogdensburg Planning Department, Parks & Recreation Department, Public Works Department, and other groups in Ogdensburg, to hold its 17th Earth Day observance in Ogdensburg by staging a “Green Up – Clean Up” program along the Maple City Trail.
EMC meetings are open to the public.
