St. Lawrence County Dairy Princess Festival and Parade June 3-4 in Canton

CANTON -- The St. Lawrence County Dairy Princess Festival and Parade are scheduled for Saturday, June 3, and Sunday, June 4, with a races, contests, food, car show, quilt show and sale, and a block dance slated.

Dairy Princess Camryn Chester of Lisbon will be in attendence both days with her court, Maureen Pierce of Heuvelton, Emily Riele of Canton, Kaitlyn Putnam and Josh Godbout of Lisbon, Kaylin Gotham and Leeann Gotham of Hermon.

This year’s festival theme is “Shake it Up with Dairy.”

Things get started this year with a Big Wheels race at 5:30 p.m. Friday in the village park. A second race for children 4-6 years old will be held from 6-8 p.m.

A John Deere Days block dance, sponsored by LeBerge & Curtis will follow.

Boyden Brook Body Works is sponsoring a car show during the festival Friday. Call 315-379-9853 ext. 10 for more information.

The Festival in the Park starts at 10 a.m. Saturday with frog jumping contests, activities on Main Street, dairy displays, cake walk, crafts, chicken barbecue and a concessions stand.

The parade will begin at 1 p.m. with the cadence provided by the Brockville Pipe Band.

On Saturday barn quilts will be for sale on the front lawn of the Silas Wright House at 3 E. Main St., and there will be a new quilt at the rear entrance of The TAUNY Center at 53 Main St.

Classy Collectibles, University Plaza, State Highway 11, will offer refreshments and surprises for customers Saturday, June 3, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. during the Dairy Princess parade and festival.

Nikki Ryan, a North Country's caricaturist, will be on hand for drawings at a reduced price.
