The Cornell Cooperative Extension will offer an eight-week 4-H shooting sports program during April and May at the Norfolk Rod & Gun Club and extension learning center.
The program, designed for ages 12-19 and taught by certified shooting instructors, will teach firearm safety using .22 caliber rifles, shotguns and archery equipment.
The cost will be $50, including all membership fees, equipment and supplies.
Instruction will include firearm safety, basic marksmanship, range procedures and care of firearms.
Students will also be introduced to archery, map and compass, GPS and basic outdoor skills.
Registrants will also be enrolled in the 4-H and the Norfolk Rod & Gun Club.
The schedule of programs is:
• Saturday, April 11 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Norfolk Rod & Gun Club
• Saturday, April 18 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Norfolk Rod & Gun Club
• Thursday, April 23 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Extension Leaning Farm, Canton
• Saturday, May 2 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Norfolk Rod & Gun Club
• Thursday, May 7 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Extension Learning Farm, Canton
• Saturday, May 16 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Norfolk Rod & Gun Club
• Thursday, May 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Extension Learning Farm, Canton
• Saturday, May 30 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Norfolk Rod & Gun Club
