POTSDAM -- The St. Lawrence County Arts Council will host a “Getting Started in Music Theory” course from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. April 12, 19 and 26.
Jon Dufore, a musician from Norfolk, will teach how the musical alphabet applies to chords, scales, keys and chord progressions.
Understanding core concepts will increase students’ composing skills, rhythm playing, soloing, improvising and ability to learn songs.
The class will meet in room 230 of downtown Snell Hall, 41 Elm St.
The cost will be $60 and students should bring a pencil and notebook.
