BRASHER FALLS -- St. Lawrence Central School will host a student’s cook-off Wednesday, Nov. 7 at 2:45 p.m. Seven middle school teams will compete by preparing a healthy recipe, which will be judged by a panel that will include the school’s food service manager, superintendent, middle school principal and board of education president.
The winning team will take part in the North Country Jr. Iron Chef competition, planned for Mar. 9, 2013.
The North Country Jr. Iron Chef competition will include teams of middle and high school students from Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Hamilton, Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence counties.
Teams will develop healthy recipes using a combination of local and commodity foods that can be prepared in a school cafeteria. Each team will prepare a recipe and present it to a panel of judges who will choose the winners.
