St. John's Conservatory Theater performing 'Brazilia R. Kreep's Christmas Carol' in Ogdensburg

OGDENSBURG -- St. John’s Conservatory Theater has cast their all-new musical comedy “Brazillia R. Kreep’s Christmas Carol,” which opens Dec. 9 for a two-week run.

Now in its third year, the production is a fully staged theatrical adaptation of the Charles Dickens’ holiday classic “A Christmas Carol” with book, music, and lyrics by award-winning writer and composer Richard O’Donnell (under his nom de plum Brazillia R. Kreep).

The musical comedy runs Dec. 9, 10, 16 and 17 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 11 and 18 at 2 p.m.

The show stars O’Donnell as Scrooge, Stephen Chambers as Jacob Marley, Tessa Harper as Thelma Plum (Ghost of Been There Done That), Angela Dwyer as Matilda Pift (Ghost of Christmas Presents), Hailey Weber as Elvira Fripple (Scrooge's old love interest), Brandon Bogart as Fezziwig, Rachel O’Donnell as Mrs. Fezziwig. The Cratchit Family stars Christopher Dwyer as Bob, Shelly Murdock as Emily, Myah Myers as Martha, Cadence Payne as Bella, and Dee Bellinger as Tiny Tina. The Street Urchins are portrayed by Sloane Ryan as Nipper, Jillian LeBel as Cager, Meghan Gardner as Dolly, Macy Murdock as Scraps, Grant Brunet as Rusty, Chris Rodriguez as Spider, Caroline Silver as Dustbin, and Sophia Silver as Stepintime. Carolers star Rachel O’Donnell as Mrs. Sparkles, Brandon Bogart as Mr. Sparkles, Madison Miller as Mary Sparkles, Delia Payne as Lizzy Sparkles, Cadence Payne as Ethel Sparkles, Myah Myers as Bessie Sparkles, Gabriella Ott as Florence Sparkles, and Philomena Bullock as Dandelion.

Return to old St. Lawrence, London, 1843 whereby old miserly Ebenezer Scrooge (O’Donnell) Bah Humbugs the Christmas spirit, wishing to avoid the aged-old holiday tradition altogether. Yet comical ghosts from his past, present, and future come out of the closet to scare some sense into the doomed man. Think Saturday Night Live meets “The Nightmare Before Christmas” in “Brazillia R. Kreep’s Christmas Carol,” a two-act musical comedy with over a dozen fully orchestrated songs and a local cast (24 in all) hailing from every nook and cranny of the North Country.

SJCT principal creative staff includes Executive Producer O’Donnell, Director Christopher Dwyer, Musical Director and Choreographer Angela Conzone Dwyer, Arranger and Orchestrator Ryan C. McNally, Scenic and Prop Designer Stephen Chambers, Costume and Makeup Designer Karen Fischbeck (Heuvelton), additional Costumes by Ann Losurdo and Heron Hetzler, Stage Manager Shelly Murdock, Sound Technician Angela Rodriguez, and Props Master Tonya Ott. Collectively they have over five decades of professional theatrical and academic experience including regional, stock, bus and truck, off-off-Broadway, off-Broadway, and Broadway stages.

Other vital SJCT personnel includes Rector Dr. Fr. Michael O’Donnell, assistant Technical Director Ryan Woodard, assistant Props Emma Murray, assistant Costumer Hannah Gardner, house manager Sheila LaMere, and general manager Bill LaMere.
