WINTHROP -- There will be a "Spring Seed Swap" at Elliott's Farm & Home Supply from 9 a.m. to noon on April 5. Even if attendees don't have any seeds to swap, they are welcome.
The event is free and open to anyone who just wants to swap tall tales about gardening, with organizers from Elliott's Farm & Home Supply and the folks from the Local Living Venture.
They will provide seed envelopes, markers, labels and some free seeds generously contributed by various seed companies and participating citizens - plus free donuts and coffee!
The swap is both for “commercial” seeds that may be left over from last year (no older seeds, due to poor germination) and for seed varieties that have been saved by local growers. Seed swap categories can include: natives, vegetables, unusual edibles, herbs, annuals, perennials and woodies (trees/shrubs).
