MASSENA -- The Jr. Earth Keepers Club is hosting a day of spring cleanup and lessons in environmental preservation skills on May 17 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Robert Moses Park's Nature Center, 19 Robinson Bay Rd.
Attendees will learn what it takes to be an environmental ambassador.
After that, kids will explore nature's shapes.
First, they will review flash cards showing a variety of geometric shapes in nature.
Then, they will go on a guided hike collecting objects that represent the different patterns.
After returning from the hike, they will group their findings by shape and document each set of items representing various with digital cameras and post the photos on the Jr. Earth Keepers' Facebook page.
