MASSENA -- The Massena Rod and Gun Club will host the 2015 Sportsman's Expo at the Massena Arena featuring over 70 vendors and special guest Mark Manske of Adirondack Raptors who will have an owl with him.
The expo will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 11 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 12.
“We’ve been doing the expo for about 30 years and it seems to grow each year,” said event organizer John Hurd.
Manske, owner of Adirondack Raptors, a privately owned business that monitors and studies local raptor populations, will be in attendance all day with an owl for the public to see up close and have plenty of information to share.
Hurd said about 10 new vendors are expected to attend including an outfitting company, wildlife artist and Adirondack furniture and custom gun cabinet vendors.
Vendors and businesses will sell products and have information about hunting, boating, camping, fishing, trapping, firearms and recreational vehicles.
Candles and jewelry vendors will also be attendance.
“There will be a company there that makes a stove that runs off of solar power…and a lady that makes t-shirts, so a little something for everyone,” he said.
The St. Lawrence County Pistol Permit Bureau also will be on hand to take applications for permits and passports.
A concession stand will be open selling hamburgers, hotdogs, sausage, beverages and more, according to Hurd.
Admission is $6 for adults, $3 for ages 6-12 and free for under age five.
