CANTON -- A splint seat workshop is planned at the Silas Wright House, 3 East Main St., on two consecutive Wednesday evenings, March 30 and April 6, from 7 to 9 p.m.
The fee is $48 for members and $58 for non-members.
Instructor Carl Stickney has decades of experience in replacing splint-woven seats and is happy to share his knowledge and enthusiasm for this art.
Participants should bring a chair with the old seat removed. The splint material for an average size chair is included in the cost of the workshop.
Additional supplies to bring from home are scissors, an awl, a paring knife, a few clothespins, a rag, and a small water container.
Class size is limited.
