Spaghetti dinner to benefit Ogdensburg psych center Sept. 14

OGDENSBURG – A spaghetti dinner to raise money to support efforts to keep the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center inpatient mental health services unit open will be served Saturday, Sept. 14 at the Knights of Columbus Hall.

Serving will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. Dinners will be available for $8 per plate and $5 for children age five to nine. Those under age five eat for free.

Take-outs will be available. The K of C hall is located at 721 Hasbrouck St.

Pre-sale tickets are available at St. Lawrence Federal Credit Union, Kimro’s Medicine Place, Hosmer’s Marina, Sharlow’s Service Station in Waddington, Key Bank, Phil’s Diner, Buster’s Sports Bar, Vinn’s Tavern, Phoenix on the Bay and Carbino’s Jewelry.

Organizers hope to sell 1,000 dinner tickets to help fund a visit to meet with Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo on the issue, according to Chuck Kelly, chairman of the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center Task Force.
