POTSDAM -- A Southwestern millet medley in the featured recipe at Juanita’s First Thursday Creations at the Potsdam Food Co-op, 24 Elm St., from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Aug. 7.
Millet is an ancient grain, originating in Ethiopia but now feeding a third of the world's population.
The recipe, with a combination of millet and black beans, is a complete protein food with other health benefits. Fresh cilantro and freshly squeezed limes add to the savory recipe. It is nut-free, vegan, and made with gluten-free ingredients. Everyone is welcome to stop by, sample, and take home the recipe.
The Co-op is open daily from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
