Friends of Higley Flow host Prepare the Park Day in South Colton

SOUTH COLTON -- The Friends of Higley Flow State Park, Inc., sponsor a Prepare the Park day starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 5.

They will do a variety of small chores such as clearing debris from the nature trails.

Volunteers will sign in at the park office to the right of the entrance. There is no charge to enter the park at this time of year.

The Friends of Higley Flow State Park, Inc., is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing a higher level of awareness, understanding, appreciation, and respect for Higley Flow State Park’s natural resources and activities.

The group sponsors many events at the Park during the year, including a Century Bike Event in September and the Higley Hustle, a x-country ski event. The friends have also subsidized the production of tree and bird guides.

People interested in joining can send donations to The Friends of Higley Flow State Park, Inc., P.O. Box 249, Colton, NY 13625. Contributions are deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
