COLTON -- A series of trail events are being held over the winter months with events starting from the Higley Trails Lodge at Higley Flow State Park
The runs and walks are approximately 2k for the walkers and progressively increase from 5k to 10k over the series.
All events require snowshoes. Rentals from the park are $3 if the participant does not have any.
In the event of minimal snow conditions the event will be a trail walk/run. Traction devices are suggested in icy conditions. Routes for runners and walkers will be separate.
Dates for the series are: Jan. 21, Feb. 12 and March 4.
Registration begins at 10 a.m. with an 11 a.m. start. The cost is $8 per event or $20 for the series. Everyone participating on 3 of the 4 dates will receive a “Higley Snowshoe Trail Series” t-shirt.
Participants are invited to bring a lunch or snack to enjoy while you relax in the lodge after the event. Hot chocolate and other hot drinks will be provided.
