POTSDAM – Musical Theatre Organization, a SUNY Potsdam student-run theater group, present performances of "Rent" from Oct. 15 to Oct. 17 in Dunn Dance Theatre in Satterlee Hall.

"Rent," with music and lyrics by Jonathan Larson, is a rock opera that tells the story of a group of impoverished young artists and musicians struggling to survive and create in New York City under the shadow of HIV/AIDS.
Inspired by the classic opera "La Bohème," "Rent" opened on Broadway in 1996 and earned four Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The show also earned the Pulitzer Prize for Drama the same year. The show ran for 12 years on Broadway and continues to be produced at numerous theaters across America.
Tickets for "Rent" are $7 for general admission and free to SUNY Potsdam students. Tickets are available for purchase through the CPS Box Office, Snell Music Theatre, SUNY Potsdam by calling 267-2277 or online at www2.potsdam.edu/mto.
