Small Business Development Center ribbon cutting set for noon at Ogdensburg's Sherman Inn

OGDENSBURG -- A ribbon cutting for the Small Business Development Center will be held at noon at Sherman Inn today, Feb 2..

The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is opening a satellite office located in the Sherman Inn, 615 Franklin Street in Ogdensburg.

The SBDC helps small business through all phases of growth.

The SBDC can help solve business problems through one-on-one assistance in such areas as business planning, marketing, financial management and technology transfer.

The center offers management workshops and seminars, comprehensive business research services and the professional advice of certified advisors.

The SBDC program is administered by the state of New York and sponsored by the state, the U.S. Small Business Administration and the State University of New York at Canton.

There are no charges for SBDC services. There may be minimal charges associated with training events and seminars.

The goal of the SBDC is to help entrepreneurs, business and industry solve problems. Helping new and existing businesses leads to their increased productivity and profitability and in the long run, contributes to the stability and growth of the small business sector and the economy.

The SBDC is funded by the U.S. SBA and the State University of New York. Their main office is located at SUNY Canton.
