POTSDAM -- The SLC Arts Council has announced upcoming classes to be held in the Downtown Snell Hall location at 41 Elm St.

Drawing Skills Weekly with Liza LaBarge will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct 10. The class is for participants of beginner and intermediate levels ages 18 and up. This week's class will focus on gesture drawing with a clothed model. The class costs $25 for members and $35 for non-members. Chine Colle Monotype Without a Press with Veronica Lucas is a three-session class that will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursdays, Oct. 13, 20 and 27. Chine Colle is a special printmaking technique in which the image is transferred to a surface bonded to a heavier support, which allows the printmaker to print on more delicate surfaces, among other options. The class is open to participants ages of all skill levels ages 15 and older and costs $57 for members and $72 for non-members.

Lucas will also lead Relief Printmaking for Children from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 15. The class will address the types of relief printing and how the process can be executed without a press and in a home environment. All ages are welcome. The cost is $19 for members and $24 for non-members.

Leather Bookmaking with Scott Ouderkirk will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 16. Each student will create their own journal or sketchbook to take home. Cost is $77 for members and $92 for non-members.
