POTSDAM — A two-part silk painting class will be held Oct. 14 and 28 from 1 until 4 p.m. at the St. Lawrence County Arts Council, 41 Elm St. The cost is $69 for members and $84 for non-members and includes materials.
Participants will learn about silk dyeing, and practice painting on silk using resist techniques. Low toxicity dyes and waxes are used. Students can bring newsprint, additional dye brushes, sponges, heat resistant stamps such as metal utensils, etc. that can be used for applying wax resist.
