POTSDAM -- St. Lawrence County Arts Council will be offering a three-day beginning to intermediate level theater camp this August for ages 14 and up.
Class meets Aug. 13 through 15 from 3 to 5 p.m. in room 230, Downtown Snell Hall, 41 Elm St.
The cost is $72, with discounted rates available for SLC Arts members or those in need of financial assistance.
Students should start with a basic understanding of theater terms and be prepared to memorize lines for rehearsal in front of class members.
Students will develop their acting skills through character analysis, monologue development and scene work.
They will also learn how to select and develop audition materials for plays or musicals, so they can leave at the end of the sessions with audition-ready material. Instructor Molly Gushea says, “This class is perfect for high school students who would like to audition for a play or musical.”
