OGDENSBURG -- Costumed runners and walkers will take to the streets of Ogdensburg for the Skeleton Skamper 5K fun run/walk.
It is slated for Oct. 25.
First place walkers and runners will receive medals. All participants will get a chance to win a Halloween basket, a turkey and other prizes.
Categories include under 12, male and female combined. The rest are sorted by gender: 12-18, 19-30, 31-50 and 51 and older.
All children 12 and under will get a pumpkin and can compete for "best costume" prize.
Those entering the event are asked to bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to a local food pantry.
Registration begins at 8 a.m. day-of, with the race starting an hour later. The first 100 to sign up get a free t-shirt. Runners and walkers can wear a Halloween costume, if they wish.
