CANTON - Meet sheep and learn about shearing at the Sheep Shearing Second Saturday Children’s Program Saturday, Jan. 14 at 11 a.m. at the St. Lawrence County Historical Association.
This free monthly educational program for kids age 4-10 is the first program of the Second Saturday Children’s Program Sheep to Shawl series, which runs from January through May.
You do not have to attend each month’s program to participate.
Betsy Hodge from the Cornell Cooperative Extension Learning Farm will be the special guest at the program to talk about sheep and sheep shearing.
She will read a story, talk about the life of a sheep, and lead participants in making something to take home out of sheep's fleece.
At the end of the program, the kids will have a chance to meet and pet a live lamb from the Learning Farm.
