Paper maker Velma Bolyard of Wake Robin will hold workshops from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5, and Saturday, Sept. 12, at St. Lawrence University’s Sustainability Semester site, 1894 State Highway 68, across from Cornell Cooperative Extension.

Participants will make paper pulp by chopping, cooking, rinsing and beating a variety of plant fibers and will make handmade papers from the plant pulps. Attendees are encouraged to bring an apron, work gloves, waterproof footwear.

Drew Matott of Peace Paper will hold drop-in paper making sessions from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 7, to Thursday, Sept. 10, at St. Lawrence University's Sullivan Student Center. Participants can learn how to make paper from locally grown fibers.

Matott will also hold a paper making session during the TAUNY’s open house, which will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10, at 53 Main Street in Canton. Children are invited to learn how to make paper from locally grown fibers from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, during the Farmer’s Market on the Village Green. Matott will supply equipment specially sized for smaller hands, and children can take the paper they make home with them.
