POTSDAM – The Potsdam Public Library’s Reading & Discussion Series: The Serious Side of Food is held the second Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. in the village community room.
The library and GardenShare host the series, which is made possible by a Humanities NY grant and support from the Potsdam Food Co-op.
The library will work with Maggie Smith, program coordinator (Americorps VISTA) at GardenShare, to read books about the current and past business of food and discuss the local food economy.
Selections to be read include:
“The Road to Wellville” by TC Boyle on April 12,
“The Third Plate” by Dan Barber for May 10, and
“In Defense of Food” by Michael Pollan for June 14.
These books are available to be signed out at the circulation desk at the library.
