OGDENSBURG -- State Sen. Patty Ritchie’s “Senior Health and Wellness Fair” will be held Wednesday, Oct. 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Odd Fellows Hall, located on the corner of State Highway 37 and Linden Street.
This year’s fair features more vendors than ever before and will offer local seniors access to free health checks, flu shots, tips for improving well-being, lunch, entertainment and more.
“This year’s events are bigger and better than ever, featuring an increased number of organizations, lunches prepared by local culinary students and new partnerships that make getting to the Senior Health and Wellness Fairs easier than ever before,” Senator Ritchie said.
“I’m hopeful that any north country senior looking for tips on how to continue to live a healthy and active lifestyle will take the time to attend Wednesday’s event,” she said
Vendors will include AARP, Inc., Canton-Potsdam Hospital, CareGivers, Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center, Dr. Angela Rufa, D.C., Gouverneur Hospital, Greater Watertown Chamber of Commerce, Harwood Chiropractic, Healtheconnections. Healthy Way, Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley, Kinney Drugs, Massena Independent Living Center, National Grid, North Country Coalition for Parkinson's, North Country Family Health, North Country Library System, Northern Physical Therapy, NY StateWide Senior Action Council North Country Chapter, NYS Office of the Attorney General, Ogdensburg Public Library, Path Stone, Price Chopper, Rural Law Center, Sam’s Club, Seaway Valley Council for Alcohol/Substance AbusePrevention, Inc., Seniors Helping Seniors, St. Lawrence County Office for the Aging, St. Lawrence County Public Health Department St. Joseph’s Nursing Home, St. Lawrence County Clerk, St. Lawrence County Council of Senior Citizens, St. Lawrence Valley Renewal House, United Healthcare Medicare Solutions, United Helpers, Volunteer Transportation Center, Inc., and Watertown Vet Center.
“Every year, thousands of seniors attend my Health and Wellness Fairs in an effort to learn how to improve their health and well-being,” said Senator Ritchie. “I’m thrilled to host another round of these events not only to give people access to dozens of organizations aimed at helping them improve their lives, but also to talk with our area’s seniors to learn about the things that matter most to them.”
