Seaway Tech BOCES to offer several courses in October including Pediatric First Aid, GED practice test

NORWOOD – Several classes will be offered at Seaway Tech BOCES in October.

• Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid course is designed to meet the regulatory and credentialed training requirements for child care workers in all 50 states. This course teaches basic first aid skills for children such as, first aid basics, medical emergencies, injury emergencies, and environmental emergencies. Upon completion of this course, students receive an American Heart Association Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid Completion Card valid for two years. The intended audience for this course is child care workers, teachers, foster care workers, youth group leaders, coaches and others who are responsible for children. Class held at the Norwood Adult Education Center, Wednesday, Oct. 19 from 5 to 9 p.m. The cost is $50 plus $5 for certification card.

• Official GED Practice Test is a half-length test with questions similar in content, difficulty, and format as those on the Official GED Test. The OPT is a good tool to help you decide whether you are prepared to succeed on the test, or whether you would benefit from additional instruction, study or practice. The test will be given at no cost at the Norwood Adult Education Center on Oct. 17 from noon to 4 p.m. or 5 to 9 p.m.
