POTSDAM -- SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music will welcome the respected expert on music education and ethnomusicology, Patricia Shehan Campbell, as the 2016 Joy Anthony Douglass Visiting Master Teacher, in an upcoming residency.

During the visit to Crane, Campbell will share her expertise with undergraduate music education classes and with performing ensembles.

Campbell will be on campus from Monday, Sept. 26 through Wednesday, Sept. 28.

Highlights of her visit will include a workshop with the Phoenix Club and Crane Men's Ensemble and an interactive session with first grade students from St. Mary's Elementary School and Crane student teachers.

The screening will be followed by a Crane Latin Ensemble performance at Maxfield's.

Campbell will present a keynote address, "Criss-Crossing Fields: Evolutionary Intersections of Ethnomusicology and Music Education," on Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 7:30 p.m. in the Sara M. Snell Music Theater.
