POTSDAM -- Derek Forbes, award-winning Scottish bass player from the band Simple Minds, will perform live at McDuff's Pub, 59 Market St., on Friday, Sept. 23 from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Forbes is currently on tour and will be backed by the John McNutt Band from Philadelphia.
Dubbed "Scotland's Greatest Ever Bassist," Forbes rose to game with Simple Minds' hit single "Don't You Forget About Me," from "The Breakfast Club" soundtrack.
Forbes has performed with several other bands, including Propaganda, Big Country and Spear of Destiny.
He has also worked with Peter Gabriel, David Bowie and David Gilmour.
The performance will mark McNutt's sixth appearance in Potsdam.
The show is open to ages 21 and older with a $5 cover at the door.
All proceeds will benefit "Blueline Literary Magazine," published annually by the Department of English and Communication at SUNY Potsdam.
