“Statistics and Data Analysis? Ignore us no More!” is the next topic at Science Cafe events planned in Canton Nov. 1 and Nov. 2 in Potsdam.
Clarkson University professor of pathematics Sumona Mondal deciphers the lingo of statistics to help us learn about the strengths and utilities of statistics in every aspect of our lives.
Events take place at 7:15 at Pub 56, St. Lawrence University Campus, in Canton and at St. Lawrence Valley Roasters & Jernabi Coffee House, 11 Maple St. in Potsdam.
Science Cafés bring together engineers, scientists and townspeople in a relaxed, informal setting, such as coffeehouses and pubs. The speaker makes a short presentation about a topic in his or her field, and then opens up the floor to discussion.
