MASSENA -- “The Friends of the Robert Moses State Park Nature Center have announced a schedule of events for the holiday weekend.

On July 5 go on an adventure with Geocaching! This is a GPS scavenger hunt where teams use technology to find natural items throughout trails. Children may need parental assistance. At 6:30 p.m. there will be campfire cooking and for a donation S’Mores. Join the Nature Center staff at 7 p.m. to make stuffed cat toys (donated to the Massena Humane Society). Bring $1 donation, or a can of animal food. July 6, the Trail Walking Club meets at 9 a.m. Pedometers are available to use on-site. At noon, dog lovers of all ages join for the

Summer Doggie Fashion Show. Pooches large and small can take part in this beach-themed, beauty pageant-style contest. Dogs will be judged in three categories: bathing suit, evening gown (or bow-tie & tails), and talent.

Prizes will be awarded in each division. Kids can learn to make their own summer sun-visor from 3 to 4 p.m. Judy VanKennen leads o monthly outdoor Meditation Circle from 4 to 5 p.m. by trailhead campfire cooking area. Yoga mats or chairs are available for use. July 7th at 9 a.m. start your day with a guided bird-walk. Binoculars will be available. A kids yoga class with games of “red light, green light” and “freeze-tag” 10 a.m. Following the yoga class, kids can explore their creative side with a nature themed craft at 11 a.m. Pre-register by calling 705-5022 or email ncrebirth@yahoo.com
