POTSDAM -- A safe boating course will be taught from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 19 in the community room above the Potsdam Police station on Elm Street.
There is no charge for course materials.
This course is presented by volunteer instructors Sue and Jim Corbett and sponsored by the state Office of Parks and Recreation.
The course is required for anyone between the ages of 10 and 18 years to operate a motor boat in New York, and mandatory for everyone 14 and older wishing to operate a “personal watercraft” such as Jet-skis.
