RUSSELL -- The Russell Theater will host Alex Smith Saturday, July 13 at 7 p.m.
Alex Smith grew up in Long Lake, the son of a boatbuilder/writer/banjo player and historian.
Smith has been immersed in the folk tradition, with Pete Seeger and Bob Dylan constantly on the airwaves. He was also influenced by Dan Berggren, Chris Shaw and Peggy Lynn.
Smith began writing and playing traditional folk songs at the age of 12 or 13.
A ‘50-50’ raffle and refreshments will be offered at intermission.
A donation will serve as admission.
