RUSSELL -- The Russell Opera House, will host an evening with Rustic Riders Lisa Meissner and Klaus Meissner on Saturday June 9 at 7 p.m.
The Rustic Riders are known for “new music with traditional roots.” A Saranac Lake-based acoustic group, features Lisa Meissner on vocals and guitar and Klaus Meissner on percussion. Lisa’s songs sometimes invite you to sing and dance; and sometimes to pause, reflect and renew. Their music is influenced by their love of folk, traditional Celtic, Appalachian and Quebecois tunes, as well as Latin Jazz, Blues and Rock & Roll. Their audience will be encourage to engage with the performers for a unique experience. At previous performances, musical Guests have included Bill Chamberlain, Jeff Courture and David Katz on mandolin, banjo, fiddle or bass.
Their CD’s will be available for sale: 1/3 will be donated to the Russell Opera House Restoration. At the Russell Opera House your admission is your donation to the performers, and to the house to help us with our restoration. Light refreshments will be served. 50-50 Raffle.
