POTSDAM -- SUNY Potsdam Associate Professor of Community Health Kelly K. Bonnar will open the Spring 2016 Disciplined Inquiry in Education Seminar Series, with a presentation at noon on Wednesday, Feb. 10 in the Satterlee Hall Room 300.

Bonnar will speak about "Rurality as a Predictor of Health," examining health inequities and how preventable differences in health status can correlate with race/ethnicity, age, sexual orientation and geographic location. She will review how living in rural areas can perpetuate or mitigate health inequities, drawing on examples from her research in the North Country.

The Disciplined Inquiry in Education Seminar is sponsored by SUNY Potsdam's School of Education and Professional Studies. Since 2007, the School has hosted more than 90 presenters through the series.

All seminar meetings are offered on Wednesdays in Satterlee 300, from noon to 1 p.m. These events are free, and the public is welcome to attend.
