RICHVILLE -- Richville Community Fall Festival is set for Oct. 4 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Richville Playground.
There will be music that includes Larry Holley, sno cones and cotton candy. Upwards of 30 crafters will be onhand. There will also be games, face painting, a pumpkin contest, Chinese auction, wagon rides, bounce houses and more.
This is the third time the event has happened, which began as a celebration and a way to thank everyone who contributed in any way in making the new playground equipment possible, according to Lila Youngs. This year’s event will celebrate the acquisition of addition land for the playground and ball field, the building of a new pavilion and next spring's addition of playground equipment.
A grant from Healthy Summer Recreation funded the purchase of a volleyball net, an assortment of sports balls, hoola hoops, games and a wheeled water cooler, Youngs said.
In addition, the tree line is in the process of being cleared and will be the site of a Story Walk and a Richville Free Library “Little Library." The Little Library will include free books for children and adults.
